Second session with Oshwal – Empowering All Abilities (EAA)
#BadmintonForAll
Play Badminton Club held a second community oriented para-badminton session on Friday 12th July 2024 with Oshwal Empowering All Abilities (EAA) team (formerly Oshwal Re-Active8 Embracing All Abilities). They are a local community group, based in North West London, led by volunteers who organise and run various amazing activities for the children and adults with disabilities.
Many children and adults with special needs, returned with their carers and guardians. They all got stuck in and helped Play Badminton Club deliver a fun-filled engaging para-badminton taster session.
The participants learned hand-eye coordination by throwing soft balls and then progressing to shuttles. We introduced some fun and inclusive games for all. We got some great feedback and many were already asking when the next session will be!
Badminton can be a sport for all. Its a great way to stay healthy, active and makes new friends.

I am very passionate about badminton and also for ensuring that badminton is an inclusive sports for all, as far as possible. Para-badminton is an adapted form of the game to ensure badminton is a sports assessable to all, regardless of physical impairments or special needs.
It was great to see so many participants from our first taster session come back, wanting more! They are so enthusiastic, engaged and willing to try new things, while pushing themselves to just a little bit further to play badminton.
An amazing group of children and great team work with Oshwal Empowering All Abilities volunteers.
