9 – 15 May 2022
1 in 4 people in the UK has experienced a mental health problem.
Mental Health Awareness Week is happening between 9 to 15 May 2022. The official theme is ‘loneliness’ and, across the week, we encourage you to build meaningful connections with your friends, family, colleagues and communities.
Join us for Mental Health Awareness Week and Let’s Connect!
Per Badminton England, “Playing badminton engages your brain in a positive way by having to think about what you’re doing – whether it’s deciding where to serve, reacting quickly to a smash, or where to stand on court. Time on court also releases endorphins, the brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, which come particularly to the fore after winning a long rally or hard-fought match!”
We asked our Play Badminton Club members to connect with each other off-court, by going for a walk, coffee or doing some other activity where they can get to know each other a bit better outside of the badminton courts. When ‘connecting’, we asked members to take a picture and post on social media to help raise awareness with #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek and tag @playbadminton
Here are a few highlights.
