Club Competition 2025

Children's Doubles competition rules

All participants MUST be aged between 8 years and 17 years on the day of the competition, i.e. 6 July 2025.

Normal badminton doubles game rule will apply to all games.

Participants will be entered in one of three categories based on age groupings: 8 to 10 years, 11 to 13 years and 14 to 17 years (inclusive).

Participants will be allocated a playing partner in their category. Should there not be enough minimum number of participants in a category, the category will be merged with the next older category.

Within each category (subject to number of entrants) participants may further be grouped into team. In Round 1, participants will play matches (best of 1 game) with each other player in the group. Top two players from each group will progress to the knock-out stage. This ranking will be based on number of wins (or in the event of a tie, head-to-head results and/or points difference will be considered). All Round 1 games will be first to 15 points.

The knock-out stage include Quarters, Semis, Third place, Play-off and Doubles Grand Final all of which will be best of 3 games. All knock-out stages games will be to 21 points (with 2 points clear).

Please ONLY enter the competition if your child can play on the dates above. 

Once the competition has started if your child cannot continue (for any reason), they will forfeit their matches. This could potentially impact their playing partner too. 

The competition will only proceed if there are a minimum of players.

All participants must be active regular members of our Children's badminton coaching session.
