Great news to share
Play Badminton Club is now an approved supporter of This Girl Can 😊 which is a nationwide campaign launched by Sport England.
This Girl Can is a campaign to get women and girls active. Trying to encourage women to overcome barriers and get back into sport such as badminton or other activities that will get them moving.
Our monthly Women’s only badminton sessions share similar principles with this campaign. To encourage more participation by women in our club, by providing a friendly, fun, safe and positive environment. Since the introduction of these sessions in January 2022, they have been a great hit with members, and we’re delighted to see an increase in Women joining our club.
From the last Women’s badminton session, some members arranged an impromptu dinner to get to know each other as they’d really enjoyed themselves at the session. We’re so glad that our Club can bring together people from the local community to play badminton and be healthy and active as well as start new friendships.
