Queen Elizabeth II

21 April 1926 - 8 September 2022

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

Following the sad news of the Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, we at Play Badminton Club wanted to pay tribute to her great service to the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

She was magnanimous person, bound by her duty to the Crown and her people. She was the one constant in an ever-changing world. Her steadfast dedication to her country was very rare and not something that can be replicated.

While the Queen supported many charitable and sporting causes, numerous sports centres bear her name. Two sports centre which stand out are The Queen Elizabeth II Community Sports Hall located on the Isles of Scilly and Queen Elizabeth Youth Centre, in New Zealand, as they are regularly used for playing badminton.

Our thoughts are with King Charles III, the whole extended Royal Family and the entire nation.

May her soul rest in peace.

She was the face of stoicism and women empowerment in an era where change was perpetual. Her adaptability and presence will be a loss words fail to describe.
Rest in peace our Queen. 💕
