The Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships is the most prestigious badminton tournament in the world and returns to the Utilita Arena Birmingham from 14 to 19 March, celebrating 30 years in the city.
As a disability and inclusive club which is delivering some great badminton sessions, Badminton England had some offered complimentary tickets to attend the YONEX All England Open Championships 2023, on Thursday 16th March 2023 from 10am to 8pm.
For Bhavni, Trishla (one our long-standing club members) and Ashish, this was an opportunity to see up to 40 matches, played over four courts at the venue.
This was also a great opportunity to meet many of the Badminton England Board of Directors and Management Team.
Victoria Brown, Badminton England Head of Safeguarding & Richard Peters, Head Coach at Winchester Badminton Academy
Sue Storey, Badminton England CEO
Leanne Brown, Badminton England Head of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
We also got an opportunity to meet some of England's past and present badminton players.
Julie Bradbury, Double Olympian (Barcelona & Atlanta) & Commonwealth Gold Medalist, and Ed Nieburg, Co-Founder of National Badminton
Chloe Birch (left) and Lauren Smith (right), England
Jenny Moore and Greg Mairs, England
An of course we have a great time with our friends and watching some great Badminton matches, including shocking exit by World No. 1 Viktor Axelsen.
Bumping into friends at the Championships, always a great highlight
Thank you Badminton England for access to Member's Lounge
